Lawn care to begin and mowing schedule change
Weekly mowing will resume the last week of March, as weather conditions allow. Changes have been made to the mowing schedules for McClellan Place, Warner Peterson and Forsyth Communities. Please review these schedules online www.rileypicerne.com/residents/calendar, then select the appropriate community calendar.
These tips and information from our lawn care provider will help you prepare for their visits and keep your yard looking its best:
Yards should be clean and clear. Pet owners should make sure that their lawns are free of any pet waste. On lawn care days, please remove toys from all grassy areas and ensure that pets are inside your home. These conditions create major challenges for the lawn care teams and will result in a “missed” day of care. A “No Mow Tag” will be left on your front door, identifying the reasons your yard was “skipped.”
The general mowing schedule addresses front yards first, then trimming and then back yards. Back yard fences slow the pace for crews so time between your front and back mows may vary but will still be completed the same day, weather permitting.
Solar landscape lights are a hazard for mowing crews. If you install these in your yard, please remove them on mowing days to avoid unintentional damage or “skipped” service.
Grass in the area is of the fescue variety and the ideal mowing height is 3-3 ½ inches. This is taller than a number of varieties but provides the best conditions for this type of grass. Fertilizations are scheduled three or four times a year.
The best time to water your grass is first thing in the morning and our lawn care provider recommends watering three times a week. Please avoid watering on your lawn care days.
