Demolition in Colyer Manor to begin in March

Posted on: Mar 14.2018

Starting March 19, 2018, Corvias will begin site surveying and preparation for planned demolition of 324 homes in the Colyer Manor area. During this time, you may notice increased construction machinery, traffic and noise during the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. While surveying will only last a few weeks, demolition will be ongoing for the next year.

Additionally, residents will encounter the following detours during the project:

  • Access to Venable Drive will be available via G St. only. Craig Avenue will be closed.
  • Access to Booth Avenue, Hosmer Court and Attucks Court will be available via Colyer Avenue/ Pistol Range Rd. only. King Avenue and Booth Avenue South of Pistol Range Rd. will be closed.

**Parents with school-age children should note that bus routes and pick up locations may be affected by these detours. Please contact USD 475 at 785-717-4049 for details.**

At Corvias, the safety and welfare of our families is always our priority so we also want to take the opportunity to remind you that no one should be on or near construction areas throughout the neighborhood. We encourage you to explain to your children the dangers associated with playing in or around a construction site or playing on construction equipment or with work tools. Although the area can be inviting for exploring and playing, it is not a playground and can present some very real hazards. Therefore, please remind children that they are not allowed in these areas.

For questions or concerns regarding demolition, please contact Corvias at 785-717-2260.
